Seattle, Washington/Portland, Oregon - State and Local Tax Associate

Garvey Schubert Barer, with offices in Portland, Seattle, Anchorage, Washington D.C., New York and Beijing, seeks an associate for its growing state and local tax practice. This opening is in either the Seattle or Portland office, with a preference for the Seattle office. Our state and local tax practice includes excise and property tax matters in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. We litigate tax appeals and advise businesses in transactions and planning. This position requires a strong interest in and commitment to specializing in state and local taxes in the Pacific Northwest. As an associate in our state and local tax practice, you will be an integral member of our group and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals. Applicants must have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, strong academic credentials, outstanding writing and analytical skills, the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, and a commitment to excellence.
