West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair

West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair Registration -- open until December 3, 2013

Students currently enrolled in an LL.M. program at the University of Washington School of Law are invited to participate in the annual West Coast International LL.M. Job Fair. The Job Fair will be held on the UCLA campus on Friday, February 21, 2014.  Registration to participate in the program is now open.

Getting Started:  Review the UCLA West Coast LL.M. Job Fair webpage for general information about the program. Next, select “2014 Symplicity User Instructions for Students” for details on registration, uploading documents, and bidding for employers.  Review the “2014 West Coast LL.M. Job Fair Calendar” to note important dates and avoid missing deadlines.  Also read through the “Frequently Asked Questions--Students” for details about the process.

Register using your UW email address.  This allows coordinators of the Job Fair to more efficiently track and assist students from the UW School of Law.

Before logging on, confirm you are using the Symplicity site designed exclusively for the West Coast LL.M. Job Fair.  UCLA uses Symplicity to manage the Job Fair, but it is not the same web site used by the Center for Professional and Leadership Development to post jobs, advertise events and schedule on-campus interviews. 

Use the correct password.  Though your login (email) address will be the same for both Symplicity sites, assigned passwords will be different.  After your registration has been approved, you may change your Job Fair password to match the UW site when you log in to complete your registration.

Career Workshop - November 22, 2013

SAVE THE DATE:  Friday, November 22, 10:30 – Noon, Room 133

Colleen Yamaguchi, a Leadership & Professional Development Coach and Consultant, and an attorney who was a partner at two large global law firms and an in-house counsel, will offer an interactive training session to our LL.M. and Ph.D. students on Friday, November 22, from 10:30 – Noon in Room 133.

Colleen practiced law, working on international transactions, for over 20 years. She draws on this extensive experience working with and leading teams of lawyers across the continents, in addition to her professional coaching certification. 

 Colleen has been coaching lawyers and other professionals since 2007.  She is experienced in effectively communicating across cultures, styles, gender and functions. Whether coaching individuals, facilitating groups or creating leadership programs, Colleen addresses relevant issues and connects personally, using creativity, challenging perspectives and humor.

Director's Lunch - December 5, 2013

The second Director's lunch of the year will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m.  Cameron Wiebe, one of our alums who works at Amazon.com, will be the guest practitioner.  Space is limited, so if you would like to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.

KPMG Information Session - November 18, 2013

KPMG will be hosting an information session for their International Corporate Services group on Monday, November 18 at 1 p.m. in room 115A-C.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some of their professionals and to find out what they do.
