I've heard that some of you are interested in a solo practitioner career panel. I am in the process of planning that. To that end, I'm having Pete Roberts, who is in charge of the Law Office Management Assistance Program (LOMAP) for the WSBA, come on campus to talk with students on Wednesday, February 16 at noon. I will create a separate post with the details. I encourage you to attend if you have ever considered starting your own practice, either by yourself or with a couple of colleagues. When I began my practice, I was grateful for their assistance! I have also talked with a few recent graduates who have started their own practices about coming on campus to talk with you. Please let me know if you prefer that I combine the LOMAP presentation with the career panel or keep them separate.
I haven't received very many RSVPs for the estate planning career panel. Please let me know if you plan to attend. One of the presenters started out solo and then joined a firm, so his experiences may also be helpful to those of you interested in starting your own practice, even if your focus may not be estate planning.
