2012 WSBA Tax Section
LL.M. Taxation Scholarship Information

The Washington State Bar Association Tax Section is pleased to announce its eleventh annual $5,000 LL.M. Tax scholarship. Eligible applicants are those who have been accepted by, and plan to attend, a Tax LL.M. program in 2012-2013 at an accredited United States law school.
The scholarship committee will evaluate the following factors in awarding the scholarship: (a) academic record; (b) financial need for the scholarship; and (c) the demonstrated intent to become an active member of the Washington State Bar Association Tax Section upon completion of his/her tax LL.M. The scholarship will be awarded at the Tax Section Annual Luncheon on May 15, 2012. Scholarship information can also be found on the WSBA Tax Section web site.

Information
Applicants may apply for the scholarship by sending the following information to Cory L. Johnson at Chicoine & Hallett P.S., 719 Second Ave., Suite 425, Seattle, Washington, 98104, or by email at cjohnson@c-hlaw.com by April 29, 2012:
• Copy of resume, including name, address, phone number, email address, name of law school and graduation date;
• Copy of Acceptance Letter from an LL.M. Tax Program;
• Copy of law school transcript; and
• Written explanation not to exceed 2 double spaced pages, addressing: 1) commitment to practice law in Washington State; and 2) financial need for the scholarship.
Process
Submit your application to Cory Johnson by the deadline. Applicants may be interviewed by telephone by the Scholarship Committee. The recipient is encouraged to attend the Tax Section Annual Luncheon on May 15, 2012. Persons related to members of the Executive Council are not eligible for the scholarship.

Deadline

Applications must be received on or before April 29, 2012.
